Password Security
Never give your password to anyone.
Choose a password which is easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess.
Choose a long password which is not a real word.
Memorize it and don't write it down anywhere.
Don't send your password in email. If anyone at Exit109 needs it they will ask you over the phone (when you place the call).

You can change your password via the web, on our
password changing page.
You will be asked to authenticate with your current password first,
unless you have already authenticated to our member services area (to
set up mail filters or add your homepage to our user homepage list,
for example).
You can also change your password by logging into your shell
account on our Unix system. To log in, use a telnet program to log
into exit109.com. You can also dial in directly using any
terminal emulation software.
Use the command passwd at the prompt. You will be asked for your
old password, and then for a new one (which you will have to type twice).
The passwords will not be echoed on the screen as you type them.
If you need to change the password on an email-only account, you have
no shell access at all. If you telnet to hiway1, you will be automatically
placed into the Pine email program. From the main menu of Pine,
press S for Setup, then N for New Password, and proceed
as above.
Your password for email is the same as your login password. Please note
that passwords are case sensitive, so if you choose a lowercase
password, you must enter it in lowercase, and if you choose capital letters,
you must enter them in caps every time.
