Error retrieving mail: quota exceeded / can't copy
If you get an error when trying to retrieve your email, telling you it
can't copy the mail spool file because the quota is exceeded, this means your
mailbox has gotten so large that the system has decided to make you do
something about it. This means there are at least ten megabytes in your
mailbox file, probably more.
There are a couple of things you can do about it. If you really need everything
in the mailbox, email us or call and
ask us to temporarily raise your mailbox quota so you can download it. This
probably won't work. Email is a terrible way to transfer large files,
and many mail programs can't handle them. If you need to transfer very large
files, use FTP or the web rather than email.
Also, if you log into your shell account
you may be able to delete some of the mail with Pine or Elm (but if it's
too big those will probably crash too) or Mutt (which is pretty good
about large mailbox files). You could also just wipe out the mail spool
file; something like cat /dev/null >/var/mail/username
will do the trick.
If you don't need the contents of the mail you can also ask us to delete it
for you; just email us or call. If
there is one very large mail which is causing the problem, we may be
able to just delete the one causing the problem. We may also have to simply
delete the entire mailbox file.
The best advice is not to let your mailbox get that big. Don't leave copies
of everything on the server unless your program can also delete them after
a certain amount of time.

Error retrieving mail: password is incorrect
Passwords and usernames for retrieving email are case-sensitive. If
you have your username entered in your mail program with any capital letters,
you will get an authentication error and will not be able to get your email.
Ensure that your username is entered as one word, in lowercase letters, with
no spaces, and without @exit109.com at the end.
Your password is case-sensititve, and is the same as the password you use
to log in to the system. Try retyping it to make sure it isn't just a typo.
