Not long after the school opened 25 years ago, Mr. David Wells, the art teacher began working with sixth grade students on painting the walls of AsherHolmes' hallways. It is a project which has never ended. Fortunately two years ago two additions were put on the building, so just about the time that Asher was running out of wall space, new halls were created and the painting collection continues to grow.
The original paintings portrayed life and happenings in Marlboro in a light and flowery fashion. Children of the world were added to another section of wall around the office, each dressed in native costume. Down one classroom corridor the theme changed to fairy tales and favorite children's stories. In recent years the paintings have focused on popular children's movies. We enjoy the walls everyday and we invite you to share some of the scenes with us now.
