In what may well be my swan song on Vertical Video, I am drafting a retrospective of the best/earliest/most popular/award winning vertical videos that I have found on the web. This piece has links and embeds of all the videos so you can watch them inline/fullscreen or in their host environment/app (mostly YouTube or Vimeo.) Obviously it will look best on a phone or tablet, but I have tried to make it the best possible experience on a desktop or laptop too. (I do ask you to resize your browser window on such "legacy systems" for best results.) I would appreciate any comments on the draft, contact me on one of the social channels above (Twitter preferred.) Here is the link.
In June 2016 I did a guest post on the online journalism blog describing the (mostlty video) "conversation" about vertical video. Here is the link.
The press in mid-2015 has been quite interested in Vertical Video based on announcements by Snapchat and YouTube in particular. To test the pronouncements, I have uploaded short vertical videos to several platforms. More platforms to come (hopefully) when they actually allow me to upload my videos!
