:: Intermission ::

Hiho, darlings. We're taking a brief intermission here to collect our thoughts and consolidate our knitting. So, imagine you are at one of my favorite places and it is time for intermission . . . get up, stretch your legs, have a (metaphorical) smoke, a drink, etc., admire one another's lovely frocks. Take advantage of this high-brow seventh inning stretch and go get some fresh air by viewing Terri's photos from her latest hike along the Freight Trail, and don't forget to scroll down for her sock-yarn sweater with perfectly set-in sleeves. Visit the galleries and observe Brilliant Cynthia's latest: a breathtaking and sometimes heartbreaking survey of aprons and their impact on culture. You may also have time to have a roll in the blogrolls.

We'll be with you shortly, after a brief word from our sponsors, with acres of lace-knitting to show you.

Squeezed

We're squeezing a blog entry in today, along with the comment that blogging will be sporadic in the near future. It's the end of the semester, and since for the last month all I have really done is RICE (rest, ice, compress, elevate) my knees, I have a lot to catch up on.

Naturally, when duty calls, we cast on large complicated projects as a stalling tactic. Here is a Pi Shawl by E. Zimmermann, knit up to round 144, and in splendid Handmaiden Angel Hair handpainted by the Fleece Artist in the colorway Renaissance.

Pi Shawl beginnings

It's less pink and green than it appears here. But dig that swell center spiral!

We also began D. Seiman's "Creatures of the Reef" shawl.

new shawl cast on

Anyone who has knit this knows that what's on the needles here is actually a lot of progress, since the shawl begins with the directions "cast on 437 stitches." Our lovely yarn is handpainted Zephyr in the colorway "Pacifica" from Furryarns.

In the blogHousekeeping Dept., I've moved my links to a separate page. If you need them, you'll find them under Here and There in the right-hand sidebar. More about links and rings later. For now, I think that's the news from blogdogblog.

Have a wonderful, creative, and productive week!

Mikearoni

Peace out!
