This is how I would do it:
Knit including the last stitch that is not grey. It looks like the one with the + symbol. Wrap, turn, slip. Notice that on the next row up, you have another stitch in the + color but it is one stitch in. Start the next row there.

I don't know. I've got my xerox withme. I'm looking at the neck area and I definitely know that these are decrease rows. But I'm stumped over the shortrows. Reading the instructions, it says: give the border an extra pair of Short Rows before and after the "corner". So, where's the "corner"?
