Hmm, interesting comment on how Sirius is the Dog Star. Now I know why Harry Potter's Godfather was named Sirius -- he was able to transform in to a dog. Kind of neat to make the connection.

Here's more trivia -- in French, it's called the "canicule" -- from the same root for dog. And there are debates that rage amongst those that say we're experiencing a "canicule" every time the temperature goes about 30 Celcius, and those who say it can only describe the hot temperatures that are experienced around the appearance of Sirius the dog star in August...

Just so you know .

My grandmother was an excellent tatter. Even when she was inthe nursing home and sort of alzheimer-y, she had two shuttles in her purse. One day, I will learn, too. For now, Knitting and spinning are PLENTY of habits. I mean HOBBIES.

Freudian slip.
