1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high-end/natural
fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
I try to be an equal opportunity knitter,
but wool in dk, sport, or fingering weight is my favorite.
2. Do you spin? Crochet?
Not really; at some point (perhaps at the intersession break) I'd like to try tapestry crochet, and I do have a beautiful drop spindle that I find difficult to use

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
Only seasonal allergies.
Am I lucky or what?
4. How long have you been knitting?
Years and years, with a few breaks for beading and tapestry weaving.
5. Do you have an
Amazon or other online wish list?
No, but I suppose if it might be helpful, I could establish one. I have a bit of an
impulse control problem, so when I see a book I would like, I generally buy it on the spot.
6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles,
bath products etc.)
Green! Eucalyptus, mint, sage, pine. But not fruity green as in pears or kiwis or limes.
7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
Mostly for chocolate,
especially chocolate with nuts.
8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
Knitting is my main thang now as it is so portable and puttable-downable, if you know what I mean. However, when I have stretches of leisure time, I like
beading and tapestry weaving.
9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if you want to make her a CD)
Eclectic. My CDs at work currently are the Essential Frank Sinatra and a collection of Tibetan Buddhist Chants :-)
Big fan of NPR, actually. Opera. Metal. Dance.
10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer?
Green! No wait--Red! Hmmmm. Purple. Gold? Anything that is not pastel.

family situation? Do you have any pets?
I live with my three adorable miniature long-haired black and tan dachshunds,
Mike, Jack, and Della.
12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)
Peace, perfect health, and prosperity!
13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
I'm nearly exclusively faithful to wool, but have been known to dip into some of the new novelty yarns.
14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
I haven't met a fiber I didn't like yet :-)
15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
Stranded knitting--gloves, mittens, Fair Isle, Norwegian!
16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
Whatever I'm working on at the moment--it's all about the process.
17. What are you knitting right now?
A pair of
mittens, an Alice Starmore vest, and a cardigan by Meg Swansen are on my "to finish next" list. Precisely now, I'm working on the mittens.
18. What do you think about ponchos? (this is really a curiousity question for us)
I think they look great on other people! And I'm planning to knit one for my little sister (http://www.bananaflip.com). But I can't quite imagine myself in one here in Austin, especially since I run a little hot anyway.
19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?

20. How did you learn to knit?
My Gran taught me.
21. How old is your oldest UFO?
Less than a year.
