Brake rotors, calipers, and soft lines went on last week. It's a good thing I
still have the Mustang (Laina may disagree). I never removed the brake line
brackets from it.
It would be nice if I could steer this thing. It may be important some day.
Yes, OF COURSE I'm going to paint it.
The steering wheel serves no purpose yet (except to pressurize the rack when I turn it and
blow the rubber plug across the garage in a shower of fluid) but it sure
looks nice.
Next up, brake lines. What a pain. The kit comes with about 20 feet of raw
line for the hapless builder to bend and double flare. Double flaring is a PAIN
and one of the fittings requires a bubble flare. No thanks. NAPA sells
various lengths of pre-flared lines and a myriad of connector adapters. If
only they actually stocked the adapters. I've been to two stores
and am still missing three. Sigh.
In any event, selfless Factory Five builders before me have cataloged the exact
combination of lines and connectors needed. No guesswork required. I used the
stock line material to come up with the appropriate bends before risking my $2.99
NAPA purchase. Brake line one (right front) didn't come out too badly at all.
