On Sunday, 21 June the Chileheads in conjunction with the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) will be hosting the second annual Summer Solstice Hotluck and Chile Cookoff! What better present for that wonderful Dad than to be surprised with a day of spicy food fun and friends? The festivities will begin about 11am and continue until ??? The facilities are beautiful, rain or shine! Set in a wooded meadow there are covered pavilions with tables and benches. There is electricity and water available as well as complete restroom facilities. Bring your grill, smoker & toaster oven. Heck! Bring your refrigerator, microwave and color TV! Most of all, Bring on that Hot and Spicy Food! Any dish you fancy that creatively uses the gift that "El Grande" hath provided. Any cuisine is appropriate, and not every dish needs to be spicy, but if not spicy, the dish should complement spicy food. We would like to set up a sauce tasting bar, so any folks out there who have a favorite sauce, salsa or other condiment, please feel free to bring them! I'll be bringing a collection of goodies I collected at the 10th Annual Fiery Foods Festival in Albuquerque! Directions: Take I-95 to exit 80 and proceed east on Rt. 543; Rt 543 crosses over US Rt.40 and then curves to the right like an exit ramp; at the end of the ramp, turn right onto Rt 40 north; just a couple of miles take a right on Rt 715 (APG); immediately after you pass the entrance gate to APG, turn left into the park.
