8 oz. cream cheese 1/2 cup margarine 3/4 cup water 1/2 tsp. salt 2 cups flour 2 1/3 cups sugar 3 eggs 1/2 cup sour cream 1 tsp. baking soda 6 oz. semi-sweet choc. chips 2 squares unsweetened bakers choc. Directions: Combine soften cream cheese and 1/3 cup sugar. Add 1 egg and mix thoroughly, set aside. Combine margarine, water and unsweetened bakers choc. in saucepan. Bring to slow boil and set aside. In large bowl mix flour, 2 cups sugar, 2 eggs, sour cream, baking soda and salt. Combine dough and choc. mixtures and blend together. Pour into greased and floured 15 1/2x10 1/2 jelly roll pan or 15x13 baking pan. Spoon cheese mixture over top. Cut through batter with knife for marble effect. Top with semi-sweet choc. chips. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes. MONA SULLIVAN |
