1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 cup poppy seeds
2 1/4 cups flour
1 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs


The poppy seeds are mixed right into the dough. It makes an interesting looking and great tasting, crisp cookie. ("I like to cook them less for a different taste")

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stir baking powder and poppy seeds into the flour and set aside. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and mix well. Add the flour mixture and stir until blended. Shape the dough into one-inch
